A Pikachu snuck into my collection disguised as a Mew!
In 2005, The Pokemon Center released a special Pikachu for each month of the year. This one was released for July. Every month has a unique illustration inside the tag as well, making them extra special! Since these collections are only available for a short time, the set from 2005 has become pretty hard to find. I know it's not *technically* a Mew plush, but the Mew mask is close enough, right?!
This Mew was only available for a brief time and is now very rare. It was my grail until March 2025, when I finally found one for a reasonable price on Ebay! She was listed as a 1/1 talking Tomy Mew, which may be why nobody had snatched her up yet. She's super fluffy, and has a similar style to the early 2000s Tomy Mews.
Unfortunately, the tush tag has been cut so I don't know whether I have the 2006 or 2007 version. Apparently there are slight differences in size, color and pattern between the two. Even without the tags, she's one my favorite plushies.
This line started out being called PlushPlush, then Poké Dolls, and now they're called Pokemon Dolls. They're based on the Poké Doll first introduced in Gen 1 of the games, with simplified chibi designs. So far, I have the 2010 Doll, the 2018 Pokemon Doll, a smaller keychain Pokemon Doll, and the mini Poké Doll from the Dollhouse collection!
The Kuttari series features beanbag characters in awake and sleeping styles. They're super floppy and have a nice weight. I bought the sleeping version at the Nintendo store in NYC on a business trip, and got the awake version recently from JP Mercari.
The sleeping Mew holds a special place in my collection. It's the first Mew plush I bought as an adult!
A smaller version of the life-size Poke Plush, without the poseable tail. Not much else to say about it! It's soft and well-made, like most plush by the Pokemon Center.
Pokemon Fit (Sitting Cuties in the USA) are small, weighted plush designed to sit upright on their own. They are released in sets by generation, with every Pokemon (hopefully) getting its own plush at some point! Mew is soft with beans in its butt, and sits upright easily. It's a good little plush to display anywhere!
Each year, Pokémon releases a Pika Pika Bag, styled after traditional Japanese "Fukubukuro" Lucky Bags. Each bag contains an assortment of exclusive Pokémon merch. In 2019, the bag cost 4,000 yen and included one limited edition plush of Pikachu, Eevee and or Mew, along with a variety of other items.
This Mew is a 12" version of the standard Pokemon fit plushies. It's weighted with beans in the butt, and is a faithful recreation of the smaller Fit!
She's so fancy! I love the star and big bow. Pokémon Christmas plush are always really unique, with special art on the tag. This one is part of the Pokémon Holiday Extravaganza collection. I bought mine second-hand in 2019 on Mercari. The price has gone up since then, so I'm glad I got one early!
This plush is so cute! It has a retro look, designed by artist F*Kaori. The Japanese version has a custom illustrated tag, while my American one has the basic Pokéball tag. I snatched this one up from the USPC when they had a restock, but I'd love to get the Japanese version for the cute tag!
I was eyeing this plush for a long time, and planned to get it on our trip to Japan scheduled for 2020... exactly when Covid hit. That trip was canceled, but I eventually gave in and ordered one from Meccha Japan in 2024. Similar to the Comfy Friends line but technically a different series. It's sooooo soft! Absolutely one of my favorites.
This is a big plush! It's meant to be life-size. Like all Pokécen plush, the fabric is soft and it's stitched and stuffed well. It has a jointed poseable tail that's stitched to the back, so you'd need to remove the stitch to give it full poseability. I'd say this plush is better for display vs. cuddling, due to the tail and overall firmness.
This Ditto is hiding out among my Mew plushes, but it's cute so I guess it can stay. 😉
The Transform! Metamon series features Ditto transformed into other Pokemon. Its derpy Ditto face makes it one of my favorite plush! I bought mine from the USA Pokemon Center.
Comfy Cuddlers are made to be soft and cuddly for kids, with washable terrycloth fabric. It reminds me of the Kuttari line, just with a different towel material and a paler pink color. The tag is extra cute, with illustrated directions for washing.
Pokemon released a series of plush built around the Pokemon TCG, including several of Mew! This plush is made to display a trading card. I love Mew's little hat 🥹. I purchased this plush in person during a trip to Japan in 2025.
The Pokemon Petit collection features a variety of Pokemon with a chibi style. This Mew has a bit of an odd head shape... I don't love the long snout! Even so, the tag artwork is really cute, and I'm happy to have it in my collection.
I don't know much about this product line, or why Mew is included in a Pikachu invasion? But this is a plush that can clip to your shoulder, bag, hat, or anywhere else. Cute and handy when you want to travel with a Pokémon!
This tiny Mew fits inside the included Poké Ball. Just a little cute guy!
Another li'l guy, not too much more to say. It's soft and well-made, and the carabiner is rather uniquely shaped like a Poké Ball. I just wish the tag on the US version wasn't as big as the plush itself.
A series of plush meant to help display and carry items from the Pokémon card game. This one is a keychain mascot with a slot to hold a flip coin. I love the little hat!
